Men's Track & Field Wraps Up Penn State National Open

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - In a thrilling display of athletic prowess at the Penn State National Open, in the60m hurdles finals, three athletes, Easton Tan, Greg Foster, and Albert Kreutzer, showcased their skills in a tight competition. A standout moment arrived with Easton Tan achieving a groundbreaking time of 7.98 seconds in the 60m hurdles, securing a top-three finish and landing a spot in the top 10 all-time list, sharing the seventh position for the Tigers.Â
Tyler Konopka emerged as a dominant force in the men's shot put, securing a coveted first-place finish with a powerful throw of 17.86m (58-7.25). This outstanding performance not only earned him the top spot in the event but also etched his name at the prestigious 10th position in the all-time record book. Adding to the team's success, Casey Helm delivered a commendable third-place throw of 17.27m (56-8.00).
Shifting the focus to the heptathlon, Mike Dallal notched personal bests in two heptathlon events on day one. First, he achieved a distance of 11.60m (38-0.75) in the shot put, followed by an impressive 1.73m (5-8.00) clearance in the high jump.Â
Transitioning to day two, Mike Dallal continued his performance by securing a third-place finish in the highly competitive 60m hurdles, clocking in at an impressive 8.51 seconds and he also finished with a time of 2:59.70 in the 1000m. Finally in the pole vault, he finished with a mark of 3.70m (12-1.50).
Nick Bendtsen continued his form by breaking the 4-minute mile for the second consecutive week, registering an impressive time of 3:59.92.
In the 5000m, Jack Gregorski emerged victorious with a stellar time of 14:16.86, while Nate Tavakolian secured a commendable third place with a mark of 14:29.47. Easton Tan and Greg Foster further showcased their sprinting prowess by claiming the third and fourth positions, respectively, in the 60m hurdles, with times of 7.98 and 8.05.
Zachary Della Rocca made his mark in the 60m, securing a fourth-place finish with a time of 6.74, surpassing his previous personal record and earning the sixth position in the Princeton records book.
In the weight throw, Paul Brennan delivered a strong performance, tying for fifth place with a throw of 19.70m, surpassing his personal record of 19.64m.
Transitioning to more track events, Westin Brown showcased his speed and endurance in the men's 1000m, earning a well-deserved third-place finish with a commendable time of 2:27.67. Meanwhile, Kavon Miller made a striking impact in the men's 200m, claiming a second-place spot on the leaderboard with an impressive time of 21.75 seconds. In the distance medley, Princeton's B team consisting of Jackson Shorten, Kavon Miller, Duncan Miller and Connor McCormick took a second place finish with a time of 9:43.35.
To cap off the day with one of the best performances, the Princeton A 4x400 team captured a first place time of 3:09.90 which ranks second all-time in the Princeton record book. The team consisted of Xavier Donaldson, Jackson Clarke, Zachary Della Rocca, Anderson Dimon.
The Penn State National Open unfolded as a showcase of individual achievements and collective triumphs for the men's track and field team.
