January 09, 2024 | Women's Ice Hockey
Following a week that saw her earn Player of the Tournament honors as the Princeton women's hockey team swept Providence in the Friendship Series in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Tiger senior Sarah Fillier has been selected as the ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week, presented by Bluebird Hotels.
Fillier had a point on six of Princeton's eight goals in 6-1 and 2-1 wins over Providence across the pond. In last Friday's game, Fillier had a goal and three assists, and in Saturday's game, Fillier had the tying goal and assisted on Sarah Paul's game winner that came with two minutes to go in the game.Â
Fillier enters the resumption of ECAC Hockey play this weekend at Dartmouth and Harvard with a team-high 16 goals and standing alongside Issy Wunder with a team-high 25 points. Fillier continues her climb up Princeton's career scoring lists as she became Princeton's top point scorer of this century over the weekend. Her 176 points are the most for any Tiger since 1997 and the fourth-most in program history. Her 79 goals stand eighth and the most since former teammate Carly Bullock '20 finished her career with 95, and Fillier's 97 assists are second all-time only to record-holder Kathy Issel '95, who had 122.
