Men's Basketball Drops Myrtle Beach Invitational Opener To Wright State

CONWAY, S.C. – The Princeton University men's basketball team fell in its opening game at the Myrtle Beach Invitational to Wright State inside the HTC Center Thursday night.
Junior Xaivian Lee led the Tigers with a team-high 14 points, four rebounds and two assists. Sophomore Jackson Hicke scored a season-high eight points on 3-for-4 shooting, and junior Jack Scott added a season-high seven points, two rebounds and one assist for Princeton.
An early 11-0 run by the Raiders saw Wright State jump out to a 22-9 advantage with 11:34 on the clock, but a step-back three-pointer by Lee with 11:09 left in the half halted Wright State's run. A Hicke three-pointer brought it down to single digits, 24-15, at 9:54. The momentum stayed with the Raiders for much of the half, and they took a 43-25 lead into halftime.
A three-pointer by sophomore Dalen Davis with 14:58 remaining ignited an 8-0 run, making it a 57-43 contest with 12:11 on the clock. A short jumper by Hicke narrowed the deficit to 13, 64-51, at 10:06 as the Tigers looked to mount a second half comeback. However, Princeton's comeback attempt was to no avail as the Raiders held on for the victory, 80-62.
