Men's Tennis Concludes Run At NCAA Individual Championships
November 21, 2024 | Men's Tennis
There were several highlights from the first rounds of the tournament for the Tigers. By advancing to the singles Round of 16, Paul Inchauspe became the program's fifth ever All-American.
Inchauspe and Fnu Nidunjianzan both won their matches in the Round of 64, marking the first time since 1980 that Princeton has had two players reach the second round.
"We're incredibly proud of Paul, Top and Filippos who had success here," head coach Billy Pate said. "Our goal is always to advance in post season, individuals or team, and they took a good step for our program this week. It's always tough at this stage when you lose because the stakes are high. I know how much Filippos and Top wanted to earn All American status. He and Paul were close the last two NCAA doubles championships while coming up just a match short. Paul had a great run in making All-American in singles and certainly made a statement this fall with his outstanding play. We are excited for the spring season and what this team can accomplish. I'm confident the success of the fall will help us grow and that will be needed as we have a very tough schedule."
