
Men’s Tennis Set To Kick Off Spring Season

PRINCETON, N.J.- After a strong fall campaign which concluded with three athletes representing the Tigers at the first ever fall NCAA Individual Championships, the Princeton men's tennis team is ready to start their journey towards. The team will take a Midwest road trip to face Notre Dame, DePaul and Wisconsin. Princeton will take on Notre Dame on Friday Jan. 17 for the spring season opener at 6:30 PM ET in South Bend, Ind.. The Tigers will have two matchups on Sunday the 19th with the first against DePaul at 11:00 AM ET before the nighttime contest against Wisconsin at 4:00 PM ET.
Princeton is set to bring in a group that proved themselves this fall with three ranked in singles and three ranked doubles pairings. Paul Inchauspe leads the group with a singles ranking of No. 19 by ITA. Fnu Nidunjianzan and Landon Ardila join Inchauspe in the top 125 men's singles players at No. 52 and No. 105 respectively.
Inchauspe earned All-American status at the NCAA Individual Championships Round of 16 and did so by upsetting the tournament's top seeder player Sebastian Gorzny of Texas in a three set thriller.
Filippos Astreinidis and Matthew Bosancic were both ranked with two different partners in doubles, Inchauspe and Astreinidis landed at the No. 51 spot in doubles after reaching the Round of 16 at the NCAA Individual Championships. Astreinidis and Bosancic and Bosancic and Milan Markovits were ranked No. 79 and No. 113 respectively.
Notre Dame has started the season 2-0 with wins over Duquesne and Western Michigan. The Fighting Irish matches Princeton with three ranked doubles pairs- Sebastian Dominko and Peter Nad (No. 78), Jayanth Devaiah and Luis Llorens Saracho (No. 106) and Brian Bilsey and Noah Becker (No. 113). Dominko enters the matchup tabbed at No. 28 in singles.
DePaul worked to a 14-10 overall record in the 2023-24 season on its way to winning the Big East title. The Blue Demons fell to No. 5 Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Wisconsin went 1-22 last season and faced Princeton in Jadwin Gym. The Tigers picked up a 6-1 win to improve their win streak at the time to 10 matches.
