Happy Leads Men's Basketball In Scoring For Second-Straight Game In Victory Over Nazareth

PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman CJ Happy led the Princeton University men's basketball team in scoring for the second-straight game and junior Caden Pierce moved into the program's all-time top-10 in rebounding Wednesday evening as the Tigers took down Nazareth, 99-63.
Pierce moved in the program's all-time top 10 in rebounding, as he recorded five which brought his career total to 562, moving past Myles Stephens '19 for tenth all-time at Princeton.
The Tigers got off to a hot start, with three-consecutive Byriel three-pointers followed by a Happy three-pointer putting Princeton up, 15-3, with 16:23 left in the half. Princeton did not let up, with a Hicke layup at 14:38 ignited a 10-0 run that gave the Tigers a 25-8 advantage with 11:00 on the clock followed by a Stanton three-pointer.
A three-pointer by Happy, Princeton's seventh of the game, put the Tigers up 32-12 with 7:50 remaining in the half. A mid-range jumper by senior Darius Gakwasi maintained Princeton's 20-point lead, 32-12, 4:32 remaining in the half and the Tigers would take a 50-28a advantage into halftime.
Byriel's fourth three-pointer of the contest came with 18:03 left to play and ignited a 12-0 run that saw Princeton go up 68-31with 15:32 on the clock. The Tigers soon increased their led to 40 following a sophomore Jacob Huggins layup at 11:23, 79-39.
Sophomore Cooper Mueller's first career points, a pair of free throws with 7:22 remaining, followed by a freshman Abdullahi dunk put the Tigers in front, 90-48, with 6:53 on the clock then from there Princeton would hold on for the 99-63 triumph as the Golden Flyers could not halt the Tigers' momentum.

Happy led the game with a career-high 18 points and shot 4-for-8 from three and grabbed five rebounds. Freshman Peyton Seals added a career-high 16 points on 5-for-10 shooting and had five rebounds and five assists, both career-highs while his assist total tied the game-high. Freshman Jack Stanton finished with 12 points on 4-for-5 shooting from three, while senior Philip Byriel contributed a career-high 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting from three. Sophomore Jackson Hicke's eight rebounds also led the game."Coach has been putting a lot of confidence in me to shoot the ball and get to my shot.
