
Men's Basketball Outlasts Dartmouth, 68-56, To Complete Weekend Sweep

HANOVER, N.H. – Four finished in double figures as the Princeton University men's basketball team overcame Dartmouth Saturday night inside Leede Arena, 68-56, to complete the weekend sweep for the second consecutive weekend.
The Tigers were led by sophomore Caden Pierce, who recorded his 13th double-double of the season and the 20th of his career. Pierce had a game-high 22 points on 8-for-14 shooting and a game-high 11 rebounds in what was his ninth game of the season with at least 20 points. Senior Matt Allocco finished with 14 points on 4-for-8 shooting, which included his 100th career three-pointer, four rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Xaivian Lee tallied 14 points, a game-high six assists, a game-high three steals and four rebounds while freshman Dalen Davis added 12 points on 3-for-5 shooting from the field and 4-for-4 shooting from the free throw line along with four rebounds, which tied his career-high, three assists and two steals, also tying his career-high.
Back-to-back three-pointers from Allocco saw the Tigers jump out to an 11-7 lead with 15:45 on the clock. Allocco's 100th career three-pointer came with 13:00 left in the half, and kept Princeton ahead, 16-15. The Big Green would soon go on a 7-0 run and take a 25-18 advantage with 9:08 remaining in the half. Dartmouth would extend its lead to 29-20 at 4:52, but Allocco went 3-for-3 from three throw with 4:37 on the clock to narrow the deficit to six, 29-23. Pierce finished a layup at 2:42 then connected on a three-pointer from the top of the arc with 1:56 left in the half to make it a 32-30 contest. Princeton would go into halftime trailing Dartmouth, 34-30.

The Tigers took the lead early in the second half, with a three-pointer by Pierce followed by an Allocco jumper put Princeton back in front, 35-24, with 18:26 on the clock. With the Tigers up one, 41-40, with 13:19 remaining, a mid-range jumper by Davis ignited a 10-0 run that included a pair of Davis three-pointers that saw the Tigers surge ahead, 51-40, with 10:59 left to play. Dartmouth made it a six-point game with 2:53 on the clock at 60-54, but a pair of Pierce free throws at 2:26 sparked an 8-0 run that gave Princeton a 68-54 lead with 0:45 remaining following another Pierce layup.
