
Three Double Figure Scorers Power Men's Basketball Past Brown, 70-60

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Powered by three double figure scorers, the Princeton University men's basketball team held on for a 70-60 victory over Brown Saturday night inside the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Sophomore Xaivian Lee led the way with a game-high 20 points that came on 7-for-14 shooting from the field and 4-for-5 shooting from the free throw line in what was his seventh game with at least 20 points this season. Additionally, he grabbed five rebounds. Sophomore Caden Pierce recorded his ninth double-double of the season and the 16th of his career with 13 points, a game-high 14 rebounds and four assists. Pierce went 9-for-9 from the free throw line, with his nine makes being a career-high. Senior Matt Allocco added 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting, three rebounds and two assist while junior Blake Peters recorded his 100th career made three-pointer as he finished with nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from the field and 2-for-3 shooting from long range.
As a team, the Tigers shot 20-for-21 from the free throw line.
A three-point play by Pierce with 18:54 on the clock helped the Tigers jump out to a 5-2 lead with 18:54 on the clock. Shortly after, three-pointers by Lee and senior Zach Martini helped the Tigers extend their advantage to 11-8 with 14:32 remaining in the half. Brown responded with a mini-run, and with 11:15 left in the half took a 15-13 lead.
With 18:04 remaining Peters connected on his milestone three-pointer that put Princeton ahead, 35-33. The two teams would trade baskets, before another Peters three-pointer sparked a 7-0 run that saw the Tigers jump ahead, 53-46, with 10:33 left to play after a layup by Allocco. Brown would battle back to make it a two-point game with 8:18 remaining, 55-53, but a three-point play by Allocco at 5:36 made it a 58-53 contest.

Princeton would soon take the lead, 23-20, thanks to a Peters layup followed by a sophomore Jack Scott layup with 7:45 on the clock. Brown would battle back to take a 24-23 advantage at 4:14. With 3:06 remaining in the half a step-back three-pointer by Lee ignited a 7-0 run that saw Princeton take a 30-24 lead with 1:53 on the clock after a layup by junior Philip Byriel.
