Baseball Falls To Richmond As Shapiro Collects Four Hits

RICHMOND, Va. – Caden Shapiro had four hits, but the Princeton Baseball Team fell to the Richmond Spiders, 24-8, on Monday afternoon.

The Tigers scored twice to open the game with an RBI double by Jake Bold and run-scoring single from Kyle Vinci.

Richmond retook the lead in the bottom of the second with three runs before a two-run single by Aidan O'Keefe made it 5-2 in the third inning. The home team put the contest away with a 12-run fourth.

Shapiro finished 4-for-5 with two extra base hits including a home run along with two runs scored. Vinci produced three hits while Bryce Gayan and Jake Kernodle had two hits each. Kernodle hit his first career home run in the loss.

Princeton continues its Spring Break trip at Old Dominion on Tuesday and Wednesday. First pitch for both contests is set for 3 p.m.
