No. 14 Women's Water Polo Welcomes Iona To DeNunzio Pool Wednesday

PRINCETON – The No. 13 Princeton Women's Water Polo Team welcomes the Iona Gaels to DeNunzio Pool on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
The Tigers are 14-6 this season, recently finishing their spring break West Coast trip. Princeton earned a victory over No. 17 San Jose State but fell to No. 13 Indiana and No. 13 UC San Diego in the Aztec Invitational. Head coach Derek Ellingson's group also defeated Pomona Pitzer before being defeated by No. 11 LMU and No. 1 UCLA.
Kayla Yelensky paces the team with 44 goals, 29 drawn ejections and 27 steals. She has 159 career goals which is tied for 12th on the all-time list. Rachael Carver leads the Tigers n scoring with 67 points, contributing 24 tallies and a team-best 43 helpers. Her 173 career assists is third in program history, five shy of Lindsey Kelleher '19 for second.
10 different Tigers have reached double-digits in scoring in Yelensky (44), Kaila Carroll (35), Carver (24), Meera Burghardt (21), Shanna Davidson (18), Kate Mallery (18), Olivia Krotts (15), Ava Houlahan (14), Ally Lurie (13) and Charlotte Riches (12).
The Tigers have won weekly CWPA awards in all but one of the weeks they've played in so far. Yelensky, Carroll, Carver, Riches and Lindsey Lucas have won accolades this season.
Lucas is 11-6 this season with a .548 save percentage and 166 stops in 17 starts. She has nine performances with at least 10 saves including four of her last five outings.
Iona is 7-11 in 2024 with Lola Trujillo leading the Gales with 33 goals, 48 points and a 58-7 sprint record.
