A – Alumni
This week is Princeton men’s lacrosse Alumni Day. Among those in attendance will be a Cortland State alum, Bill Tierney, who will be honored at halftime as the head coaching position has been endowed in his name.
B – Bath
Michael Bath has 12 caused turnovers in the last three games. He had four in the first five.
C – Cameron
Sean Cameron has seven goals (on 18 shots) and one assist in the last three games. He had two goals (on 14 shots) and no assists in the first five.
D – Defense
Princeton (9.50) and Dartmouth (9.13) rank 1-2 in the Ivy League in caused turnovers per game.
E – Extra man
There have been 64 goals scored in Princeton’s last three games. Only two of those goals have been extra man, one for Princeton and one for its opponents.

Jesse Hubbard is Princeton’s all-time leader with 163 career goals. He reached the 100-goal mark in his 38th career game, one game faster than Coulter Mackesy, who got to the 100-mark a week ago in his 39th game. The only Princeton player faster to 100 goals than Hubbard and Mackesy was Wick Sollers, who did so in 35 games in the 1970s.

Cornell and Penn are 2-0 in the Ivy League and play Saturday in Philadelphia. Princeton and Yale (who plays Brown) are 1-1, while Harvard, Dartmouth and Brown are looking for their first Ivy win. The top four advance to the league tournament, which this year will be held at the home of the Ivy champion.

Princeton won its first two games of the year and since has followed a win with a loss and a loss with a win: Princeton has lost to Maryland, beaten North Carolina, lost to Duke, beaten Rutgers, lost to Cornell and beaten Harvard.

Nate Kabiri tied the Princeton record for goals in a game by a freshman with five against Harvard (equaling the five that Sean Hartofilis in the 2000 NCAA semifinals against Virginia). Kabiri now is tied for seventh on Princeton’s list of goals by a freshman with 22, and he would move into a tie for fourth with two more goals.

Princeton will follow the game against Dartmouth by hosting Lehigh Tuesday night at 7. The Tigers will then not play again until an April 13 game at Brown.

Coulter Mackesy reached the 100-goal mark for his career in the win over Harvard, making him the 15th Princeton player to do so. With 100 goals and 54 assists, he is also one of six to have at least 100 goals and 50 assists, along with Wick Sollers, Mike MacDonald, Tom Schreiber, Chris Brown and Michael Sowers. Colin Burns has 14 goals on 29 shots for a .483 shooting percentage that ranks 12th in Division I. Andrew McMeekin is 11th in Division I in ground balls per game (7.63), while Michael Gianforcaro is 14th in Division I in saves per game (12.5) and 17th in save percentage (.546), and Michael Bath is 20th in Division I in caused turnovers per game (1.88).

T – Team of the Week
Andrew McMeekin has scored a goal in three straight games after not having a goal in his prior to that. McMeekin won 20 of 29 face-offs with 15 ground balls and a CT in addition to the goal in the win over Harvard to earn USILA Team of the Week honors. McMeekin’s face-off wins and ground balls were the most by a Princeton player in a game since Zach Currier eclipsed both against Brown in the 2017 Ivy tournament.

U – Unassisted
Princeton has scored 42 goals the last three weeks, of which 26 have been unassisted, or an assist on 38 percent of its goals. Princeton had an assist on 63 percent of its goals for the season prior to that (38 assists on 60 goals).
V – The Visitors
The Big Green come to Princeton with a record of 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the Ivy League. Princeton leads the all-time series 60-9, including a 35-1 record in Princeton, and the Tigers have won the last eight meetings between the two, including most recently a 17-7 win a year ago in Hanover. In the last game between the teams in Princeton two years ago, the Tigers eeked out a 12-10 win in a game that Dartmouth led 10-9 with 12:27 to go after a 5-0 run before the Tigers scored three times in two minutes for the win.
W – Weather
Both Princeton and Dartmouth played in awful conditions last weekend. The Tigers played in heavy rain and cold at Harvard, and it was even worse in Hanover, where Dartmouth and Penn played in what was basically a blizzard. The forecast for Princeton Saturday at noon is sunshine and 60 degrees.
X – the X
Dartmouth’s Mitchell Meyers has a .569 winning percentage at the face-off X. Andrew McMeekin is 38 for 60 with 28 ground balls and two goals in two Ivy League games.
Y – Youngsters
Princeton’s top six on offense consists of three freshmen (Colin Burns, Nate Kabiri, Tucker Wade), two sophomores (John Dunphey, Chad Palumbo) and one junior Coulter Mackesy. The face-off specialist is sophomore Andrew McMeekin, and the starting defense is a sophomore (Cooper Kistler) and two juniors (Michael Bath, Colin Mulshine). The goalie (Michael Gianforcaro, top LSM Pace Billings and top SSDM (Marquez White) are all seniors, but the No. 2 LSM (Nick Crowley) is a sophomore and the next three SSDMs are two juniors (Liam Fairback, Michael Kelly) and a freshman (Cooper Mueller).
Z – Zappitello
Dartmouth’s Hopper Zappitello, who has five goals and nine assists in only three games, is the younger brother of Maryland’s first-team All-American defenseman Ajax Zappitello.
