The Ivy standings: Columbia (7-2), Yale (9-3), Princeton (5-4) and Dartmouth (5-4) are presently in the four Ivy League Tournament positions. Princeton is two games back of Columbia for the right to host the Ivy League Tournament, plus Columbia's tiebreaker for having won the season series with Princeton 2-1. Harvard (6-6), Brown (3-6), Penn (2-7) and Cornell (2-7) are chasing spots in the Ivy tournament. Yale and Harvard are scheduled to end their Ivy seasons on the last weekend of April while the rest of the league is scheduled to wrap on the first weekend of May, the weekend before the Ivy tournament.
NCAA rankings, Ivy & Princeton records: Princeton ranks highly in the NCAA DI stat rankings in some speedy categories, including triples per game (13th, 0.37) and stolen bases per game (21st, 1.89). Brielle Wright entered the week tied with five other pitchers for second in the nation in saves, with six, one back of leader Zaylie Calderon of UTEP. Wright has already set the Princeton single-season record (previously four) and is one back of the Ivy single-season record, set last season with Harvard's Riley Flynn getting seven saves. Wright's seven career saves are two back of the program record of nine, held by Riley Wilkinson '19, and three back of the Ivy record of 10, co-held by a pair of Harvard pitchers in Rachel Brown (2009-12) and Katie Duncan (2016-19).Â
In the Ivy rankings: In league games, Princeton stands second in the Ivy in batting average at .310, while Dartmouth is eighth at .269. The rankings are nearly flipped in the circle, with Dartmouth posting an Ivy-best 2.22 ERA, ahead of Yale's second-place 3.54, and Princeton seventh at 5.10. Princeton has three players in the top 10 in the league in batting average and is the only team with more than two in the top 10. Allie Goodwin is hitting .471 in Ivy play with Sonia Zhang ninth at .444 and Lauren Sablone 10th at .419. Dartmouth's Mary Beth Cahalan is eighth at .444. Dartmouth's Jensin Hall has an 0.97 ERA in Ivy games while Cassidy Shaw leads Princeton at a 10th-best 4.36.Â
In the circle: Cassidy Shaw (8-5, 4.64 ERA overall/3-0, 4.36 Ivy) and Meghan Harrington (6-4, 4.71/2-2, 5.44) have made all of the Tigers' starts in the circle in Ivy games while Jensin Hall (6-5, 2.71/3-1, 0.97)Â and Rachel McCarroll (3-6, 4.41/2-2, 3.39) have made all the Ivy starts for the Big Green.
The series: Princeton leads the all-time series with Dartmouth 36-27. Princeton took two out of three last year in Hanover while the Big Green took two of three in 2022 in Princeton. Dartmouth swept at home in 2019 after taking two of three in the first year of the three-game series format in 2018.Â
Up next: Princeton will have its final non-league home game of the season, hosting Monmouth next Wednesday, before heading to Yale to continue the Ivy season next weekend.
