PRINCETON – The No. 4 Princeton Heavyweight Rowing Team earned its 12th straight Childs Cup with its victory over the No. 9 Penn Quakers and No. 16 Columbia Lions on Lake Carnegie on Saturday morning.
The Tigers' 1V began the racing with a 5:34.4, 5.6 seconds in front of Penn (5:40.0) and Columbia (5:52.7).
Princeton's 2V continued with a victory (5:42.9), 12.5 seconds ahead of Columbia (5:55.45). The 3V crossed the line at 5:50.7, taking down Penn (5:54.7).
Penn's 4V earned the decision at 6:00.1, 2.7 seconds in front of Princeton (6.02.9). The Quakers' 5V won by just .24 seconds (6:21.4) to finish the racing.
Hughes' squad heads on the road next Saturday (Apr. 20) to take on Harvard for the Compton Cup.
