April 19, 2024 | Heavyweight Rowing
PRINCETON – The No. 4 Princeton Heavyweight Rowing Team makes to the trip to Cambridge to take on the No. 1 Harvard Crimson for the Compton Cup Saturday.
The first Compton Cup was raced on the Charles River in 1933 which was won by Princeton. The Crimson hold a 66-17 record vs. Princeton with MIT defeating both Ivy foes in 1962. The Tigers took down the Crimson last year on Lake Carnegie, ending a Harvard four-race winning streak.
"Harvard has also had a solid start to their season and the racing will be fierce on all levels," said Princeton head coach Greg Hughes. "The team is excited to line up on Saturday and we will be working hard to get ready for the racing ahead."
"I feel privileged to have been a part of the team's success over the past few years," added Sam Kleiner. "I look forward to bringing that momentum to our dual against Harvard this weekend."

He also coaches rowing athletes with the Special Olympics of New Jersey and serves his team as a Princeton Student-Athlete Wellness Leader to promote physical and mental health.
