PRINCETON, NJ - The Princeton women's track and field team put together another great performance this weekend at the annual Larry Ellis Invitational. The team continues to set new records and beat personal bests as the Ivy League Championships quickly approach.
"We had a phenomenal weekend on our home turf at the Larry Ellis Invitational," said head coach Michelle Eisenreich. "Our jumpers continue to prove they are among the best in the country. Georgie, Alex and Tessa continue to redefine jumping at Princeton and in the Ivy League. Our middle distance crew also logged some terrific times showing our team's depth from the 800m to the steeple chase. I am especially proud of the team's grit in not letting the cold, windy conditions hinder their performances. We are absolutely ready to defend our home turf at the Ivy championships in 3 weeks!"
On the track, Mena Scatchard put together an incredibly impressive performance at the meet where she took home first-place finishes in both of her events. In the 1500m on Friday evening, she secured the top finish with an impressive time of 4:15.11 which moves her to 3rd all-time in the Princeton outdoor record book. Maggie Liebich came in second with a time of 4:17.52. In the 800m, Scatchard also won with a time of 2:04.70, which places her 5th all-time in the Princeton outdoor record book. Again, Liebich finished close behind in the 800m with a time of 2:07.68. Scatchard ranks in the top 25 in the east region in these two races, while Liebich ranks 25th in the 1500m.
In the 100m hurdles, Lily Parris and Adelaide Asante placed second and third with times of 14.32 and 14.73. Asante also placed third in the women's 200m with a personal best time of 24.36.
Freshman Olivia Martin and Anna McNatt recorded lifetime bests in the 1500m with their times of 4:28.69 and 4:32.58, respectively. McNatt came back the following day to record an impressive 5000m time of 16:49.19.
In the steeple chase, junior Lexi Allen ran a lifetime best of 10:28.51. This time places her 20th on the east regional qualifying list.
In the field, the Princeton jumpers had a particularly great weekend with both Georgina Scoot and Alexandra Kelly recording personal bests. Georgina Scoot continues to set the new school record in the long jump and this weekend was no different. Scoot set the new school record of 6.49m (21-3.5) and also took home a first-place finish. Kelly finished in second place with a mark of 6.45m (21-2). In the triple jump, Scoot and Kelly took another 1-2 finish with Scoot jumping a distance of 12.94m (42-5.5) and Kelly jumping a 12.39 (40-7.25). The two sophomores rank 1-2 in the Ivy League and are in the top 25 in the nation in both horizontal jumping events.
Also in the field, Siniru Iheoma picked up another win for the Tigers in the women's discus throw where she threw for a season best mark of 52.89m (173-6) in an unfavorable wind. Iheoma also took third in the shot put with a season best distance of 14.69m (48-2.5). The junior currently ranks 2nd in the Ivy League in both disciplines.

Freshman Angela McAuslan-Kelly, after recording no legal marks in the last two meets in the hammer throw, displayed great poise, having 5 of her 6 throws as legal marks, 2 of which were further than her previous lifetime best. She ended the competition throwing 59.05m (193-9), placing fourth, and moving herself to 5th all-time in the Princeton record books.
Tessa Mudd achieved an outdoor personal best in the pole vault with a height of 4.25m (13-11.25). Mudd took a second-place finish with this mark and she currently leads the Ivy League and sits 8th in the east region.
