Baseball Set To Host Rider Wednesday

PRINCETON – The Princeton Baseball Team is set to host the Rider Broncs Wednesday (Apr. 17) at Clarke Field. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
Princeton is 10-19 this season with wins over UNC Wilmington, Navy, Old Dominion, VUC, Cornell, Yale, Brown and Harvard. Jake Bold continues to lead the team in hitting (.297), walks (25) and on-base percentage (.438) while adding three home runs and 12 RBI. Jake Koonin paces the offense in runs (22), RBI (30), slugging (.533) and stolen bases (six). Koonin has reached base in all but three games.
Jacob Faulkner has been outstanding out of the bullpen for the Tigers, producing a 3.86 ERA in 14 outings, striking out 29 in 37 1/3 innings. Justin Kim (4.66 ERA) and Sean Episcope (7.03 ERA) have gone at least six innings in each of their last four starts. Episcope's 36 strikeouts in 32 innings leads the team.
Columbia sits at the top of the Ivy League baseball standings at 9-3 followed by Cornell at 8-4. Penn, Yale and Princeton are all 6-6 with Dartmouth and Harvard right behind at 5-7. Brown is 3-9 in conference action. The top four teams will play in the Ivy League Tournament hosted by the No. 1 seed.
Rider is 15-16 overall and 11-1 in the MAAC. The Broncs have victories over UMBC, Duke, Quinnipiac, Villanova, Saint Peter's, Siena, Lehigh and Marist. Brian Skettini leads the Broncs in hitting (.310), OPS (.916), home runs (five) and RBI (28). Clayton Poliey has a 3.96 ERA in 38 2/3 innings for Rider this season.
