CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 27 Princeton University men's tennis team battled valiantly against No. 13 Harvard Sunday afternoon at the Beren Tennis Center, but fell just short, 4-3.
"I'm proud of the team, they put up a great fight and put themselves in a good position today for a share of the Ivy title," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "We are disappointed knowing the chance we had and the pivotal moments where we just didn't quite convert. Nonetheless, we have an opportunity to keep playing in post season and will look forward to the NCAA selections on Monday. We are a young, hungry team that has grown a lot, and great things are in store for us the remainder of this season and beyond."
While the Crimson won the doubles point, the duo No. 52 Paul Inchauspe and Filippos Astreinidis took down 10th-ranked Cooper Williams and Daniel Milavsky at No. 1, 6-4.
In singles, No. 37 Inchauspe's stellar day continued as he took down No. 13 Williams, 6-3, 7-5. At the No. 4 spot, Landon Ardila secured a perfect 5-0 record in Ivy play as he defeated Rohan Jachuck, 6-4, 6-2. Sebastian Sec also got past Daniel Milavsky at No. 3, 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.
