No. 3 Women's Crew Hosts No. 19 Columbia, Northeastern and Notre Dame Saturday
April 26, 2024 | Women's Rowing - Open
PRINCETON – The No. 3 Princeton Women's Rowing Team welcomes the No. 19 Columbia Lions, the Northeastern Huskies and Notre Dame Fighting Irish to Lake Carnegie on Saturday.
The winner of the Tigers and Lions will receive the Hewitt and Dauphiny Cup. These two teams last faced on in the regular season in 2019, a race won by the Tigers.
"We are hoping to maintain our momentum this weekend and hopefully work out some of the more nitty-gritty details of the race that could use some fine tuning," said Margot LeRoux. "The whole team is working hard every day with the end goals of Ivys and NCAAs in the back of all our minds."
Last week, Princeton won its 12th straight Eisenberg Cup over the No. 6 Yale Bulldogs by 5.2 seconds.
Last week was great racing for our whole program," said LeRoux. "The Housatonic River can be unforgiving, but we knew what to expect and were ready to "throw the first punch" as coach Dauphiny likes to say. Yale beat us earlier this fall, and always bring fierce competition, so this race was a great confidence builder and test of speed for our crew.
Princeton's 1V has earned victories over Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Rutgers, USC and Yale, all by at least 3.2 seconds.
