No. 1 Women's Lightweight Rowing's Three IRA Boats Will Race For Gold

WEST WINDSOR – The No. 1 Princeton Women's Lightweight Team had each boat qualify for its IRA Grand Final on Saturday morning at Mercer Lake.
The 2x of Amelia Boehle and Sidney Bae won a thrilling heat, trailing by as many as six seconds to rally for the victory. Georgetown jumped out after the first 500m with a 1:48.2 while the Princeton duo posted a 1:54.1. The Tigers were fourth at the 1,000m point, but rowed a blistering 1:54.24 and 1:55.3 splits over the final 1,000m to make up the difference and take the top time (7:40.55) in front of the Hoyas (7:41.06), Stanford (7:41.5) and Wisconsin (7:42.5).
Princeton's 4+ also rallied, trailing by almost 1.5 seconds at the halfway mark to earn a close .23-second decision (7:23.30) over MIT (7:23.5) and BU (7:23.6).
Head coach Paul Rassam's 1V led throughout its race for lanes and had secured the top time of 6:31.7, two seconds of Radcliffe (6:33.2) and Stanford (6:33.2).
