No. 1 Women's Lightweight Rowing Ready To Defend IRA Titles

PRINCETON – The No. 1 Women's Lightweight Rowing Team makes the trip to Mercer Lake for the 2024 IRA Rowing Championships.
The Tigers sit No. 1 in the IRA Lightweight Women's Poll while the varsity four is fourth and the double is No. 2.
Princeton is coming off its fourth straight Eastern Sprints gold medal, the first time the program has accomplished that. Prior to that, Wisconsin was the last team to win at least four straight gold medals (2005-10).
Princeton's 1V rowed to a 7:05.99, 3.7 seconds ahead of Radcliffe (7:09.69).
The 2X started the racing for Princeton, crossing the line at 8:13.66, second to only Boston University (8:11.42). The Tigers beat out Georgetown (8:31.81), Wisconsin (8:45.23), Radcliffe (8:58.22) and Gordon (9:41.93). It's the fifth straight medal for the boat at Easterns.
Princeton's B4 ran second (8:25.16), trailing Boston University (8:17.1)
The Tigers' varsity four earned bronze, trailing Boston University (7:49.57) and Radcliffe (7:54.4).
Boston University took the team trophy by one point over Princeton.
Head coach Paul Rassam's crew has collected wins over No. 2 Radcliffe, No. 4 Stanford and No. 5 Georgetown this season all by at least 3.3 seconds.
Princeton's 1V has not lost a race to another lightweight boat since finishing second at the 2019 IRA Championships, having won three straight IRA titles and two consecutive IRA Commissioners' Cups.
