Tigers Take Second Straight to Start Season, Top Seton Hall 3-1
August 29, 2024 | Women's Soccer
The early-season run of first-time goal scorers continued on Thursday night as Alexandra Barry and Brooke Dawahare became the second and third Tigers to get their career-first goals this fall as the Princeton women's soccer team defeated Seton Hall 3-1 on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
Barry and Dawahare, both first-years, joined sophomore Isabella Garces, who had the goal in last Saturday's 1-0 win over Miami, in getting the first goals of their Princeton careers.Â
The first two Tiger goals on Thursday night tied it and put Princeton in front after Seton Hall's Chiara Pucci headed in a free kick in the 10th minute. Another header tied it, with Kiley Hamou serving a ball along the end line for Barry to make it 1-1 in the 37th minute.
It stayed level until just more than 20 minutes remained, when Heather MacNab sent a centering pass into the box for Barry, who saw her shot blocked before Dawahare sent in the rebound to put Princeton in front. MacNab then put it away with less than four minutes to go, dribbling it in from more than 30 yards out to just inside the 18 where she fired one inside the left post.

The win moved Princeton to 2-0 on the season with a visit from Penn State, ranked No. 12 in this week's United Soccer Coaches national rankings, coming next Thursday.
