Claire Collins '19 Places 5th At 2024 Olympics In Women's Eight

Claire Collins '19 and Team USA placed fifth in the Olympic Final in the women's eight, crossing the finish line in a time of 6:01.73. The gold medal went to Romania in a time of 5:54.39 which was 4.45 seconds clear of the rest of the field.
Collins and the Americans were on the outside of a bunched-up group of four competing for the final two medals as Canada (5:58.84), Great Britain (5:59.51), Australia (6:00.73) and the U.S. (6:01.73) were separated by 2.89 seconds.
"Claire and her teammates have represented the U.S. well throughout the Olympic regatta and should be proud of their efforts," said Princeton head coach Lori Dauphiy. "She is a two-time Olympian after her experience in the four in Tokyo where she was seventh, and now she has experience in an Olympic Final to draw on for the rest of her career. It has been an honor to be part of this experience in Paris with her and to continue to watch her grow as a national team member."
