On the Tigers: On Saturday at Cornell, Princeton bounced back from two consecutive 1-0 shutout losses, and thanks to the win over Cornell, still hasn't been shut out three times in a row in Driscoll's tenure. Eight Tigers have scored goals this season, with Alexandra Barry, Brooke Dawahare and Isabella Garces, each of whom scored her first Princeton goal this season, each scoring two, and Heather MacNab, Pia Beaulieu, Drew Coomans, Kate Toomey and Summer Pierson scoring one each. Beaulieu's and Pierson's goals were also their firsts. Tyler McCamey has played all 720 minutes between the posts, holding an 0.63 GAA while raising her career wins total to 24 and shutout total to 13.Â
Coach Driscoll: Saturday's win at Lafayette was Princeton head coach Sean Driscoll's 98th leading the program, extending his status as the leader in wins among league coaches at their current posts. The two closest to Driscoll are Brown's Kia McNeill (83) and Columbia's Tracey Bartholomew (77). Driscoll, who has led the team to three Ivy titles, has been named Ivy Coach of the Year three times, has led the team to five NCAA tournaments including four trips to the second round and one of those all the way to the quarterfinals, would be the second coach in program history to reach 100 wins, following predecessor Julie Shackford, who won 203 games from 1995 until 2014.Â
On the Ivy: The first weekend saw Princeton, Columbia, Brown and Yale get wins on Saturday. Two of those winners will go head-to-head on Saturday when the Tigers host Brown.Â
All-Time Series: Princeton leads the all-time series with Lafayette 4-0-2. The teams met annually from 1996-98 with Princeton winning all three by a combined score of 10-1. A home-and-home in 2011 and 2012 saw a 2-2 tie in Princeton before a 5-2 win in Easton. Last year, the teams renewed the series in Easton with Princeton ranked No. 13 in the nation, and despite a 17-3 overall shot advantage for the Tigers, Lafayette answered a 27th-minute Madison Curry goal with a goal from Nadia Zaffanella in the 53rd minute on the way to a 1-1 tie. Tyler McCamey played in goal for the Tigers, but with just two shots on goal for the Leopards, one went in and the other was a team save. Catherine Apker played the first half in goal for Lafayette, with Princeton's only shot on goal in the first half as Curry's goal, and Maddie Miniutti played the second half, stopping one shot with another stopped on a team save.Â
On Lafayette: The Leopards, 4-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the Patriot League, are coming off a scoreless tie at home against Loyola. It was Lafayette's fifth shutout of the season, and the Leopards will carry a shutout streak of 251:34 into Tuesday's game. Four Leopards have scored goals this season with Alexa Jindal, Katrina Santelli and Nadia Zaffanella, last year's goal scorer against Princeton, scoring two each and Ani Khachadourian scoring one. Catherine Apker has played all 720 minutes in goal, holding a 1.00 GAA.Â
Up Next: The Lafayette game will begin a run of three straight home games, all in a nine-day span, hosting Brown on Saturday and Penn next Wednesday, Oct. 9.
