Women's Basketball Uses Strong Second Half To Drop Yale, 74-38

NEW HAVEN – The Princeton Women's Basketball Team shot 61 percent in the second half to take down the Yale Bulldogs, 74-38, at Lee Amphitheater on Friday evening.
In front, 39-30, with 2:29 to go in the third quarter, the Tigers ended with a 7-2 run to improve their lead to 14, 46-32, with 10 minutes to go. Head coach Carla Berube's unit shot 7-of-12 during that stretch while Skye Belker scored 11 of her 15 points.
Princeton put the game away after beginning the fourth frame with an 11-3 sprint. Yale never got closer than 23 the rest of the way. The Tigers also shot 10-of-16 in the fourth quarter and finished 17-of-28 from the floor in the second half.
The Tigers allowed just two baskets in the fourth stanza and 14 total in the game. Belker led the Tigers with 15 points, while Ashley Chea (12), Fadima Tall (11), and Parker Hill (10) also scored in double figures.
It was the first time Princeton had four players with at least 10 points since the Seton Hall victory in November.
The Tigers outrebounded the Bulldogs, 37-28, highlighted by Tall's eight caroms. Berube's team forced 20 turnovers in the win.
The road squad ended the first quarter with nine of 11 points to take a 15-7 lead. Princeton jumped out to a 21-9 advantage before settling with a 27-18 halftime lead.
Mackenzie Egger led all scorers with 16 points and 12 rebounds for Yale in the loss. Princeton improves to 14-5 overall and 5-1 in the Ivy League while Yale dropped to 2-17 and 1-5 in the conference. The Tigers wrap the weekend road trip at Brown Saturday. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
