Home turf was kind to the Tigers as Princeton knocked off all comers en route to a nine-stroke win at the Princeton Invitational.
A pair of Princeton players were part of a three-way tie for individual medalist honors as Olivia Duan and Thanana Kotchasanmanee tied Columbia's Kristina Xu for medalist honors at -2 overall for the event. They were the only three players in the field under par for their 54 holes, and three of four players to finish even par or better.
The Tigers had four players inside the Top-10, as Sarah Lim (T5) and Luna Lu (9th) rounded out a group of Princeton players who helped the Tigers finish -1 as a team which was nine shots clear of runner-up Rutgers (+8) and 15 strokes ahead of Columbia (+14).
"This was a complete team effort from our group, and I am really proud of the way we competed all weekend," said head coach Erika DeSanty. "There's always pressure to perform at your home event, and we rose to that challenge. All weekend long, different players were stepping up and it was fun to watch them push each other and support each other along the way."
Duan, the 2025 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, was +2 after Saturday's 36 holes but rallied with a 67 (-4) on Sunday. She carded six birdies in her final round, five of which came over her final eight holes of play. After a bogey on her 17th hole of the day dropped her one shot back of the lead, she responded with a 3 on the par-4 second hole to get back into the first-place tie.
She caught her teammate, Kotchasanmanee, who had a round to remember of her own in Saturday's second round. After shooting a 74 (+3) to open the tournament, Kotchasanmanee was six shots better in the second round en route to a 68 (-3). She caught fire on the back nine, posting birdies on 12, 13 and 15 before adding an eagle on 17. On Sunday, she was +1 after 11 holes but settled in on the back nine with three birdies to finish with a 69 (-2).
Sarah Lim had the lead after 18 holes following a 68 (-3), but gave those shots back in the second round with a 74 (+3). On Sunday, after playing her first eight holes in three over, she had birdies on 10 and 12 to get back inside the Top-Five.
Princeton's third member of its freshman class, Luna Lu. was even in the final round with four birdies, to finish in solo ninth place at +3 overall.
