November 22, 2025 | Women's Basketball
The Tigers shot 23-of-35 (65.7 percent) from the floor, went 8-of-10 from deep and made 12 of 13 from the charity stripe to register their 66 second half points.
After a bucket from Penn State's Gracie Merkle extended the Lions' lead to eight, 57-49, with 4:18 to go in the third quarter, Princeton ripped off a 16-6 run to the end the frame to go up 65-63.
Princeton was in front 77-71 with 6:11 to go in the contest and stretched its advantage to double digits, 83-73, after a Madison St. Rose bucket. Penn State made a push to cut its deficit to six, 85-79, but back-to-back treys from Ashley Chea on consecutive possessions doubled up the Tigers' lead, 93-81, with three minutes remaining.
Penn State never got closer than six again.
The Lions ran off a 18-6 sprint in the first quarter to go up double digits, 22-10, before settling with a 24-14 advantage after 10 minutes.
A Skye Belker three-pointer to end the second half got the Tigers within four, 38-34, at halftime.
Belker led the Tigers with a personal-high 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting including four three-pointers along with a steal and a block. St. Rose contributed 23 points and 10 boards while Ashley Chea added 13 points and seven dimes in the victory.
It's the third time the program has produced 100 points or more in a game, but the first since 2016.
Princeton improves to 4-1 overall while Penn State suffered its first loss of the season at 4-1. The Tigers finish the Battle 4 Atlantis Sunday vs. Maryland Eastern Shore. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.
