November 23, 2025 | Wrestling
PRINCETON, N.J. – In a dual highlighted by tech falls from Marc-Anthony McGowan and Kole Mulhauser, the Princeton wrestling team fell 21-19 to Northwestern on Sunday at home in Jadwin.
With the loss, Princeton falls to 1-3 on the season, while Northwestern improves to 1-1 in duals.
Marc-Anthony McGowan kicked off the scoring early, getting a takedown just a few seconds into the first period. Adding another two before the clock hit zero, he took a 10-2 lead going into the second period. Continuing to score, McGowan built up the lead with another takedown before getting Dedrick Navarro on his back, earning himself four near-fall points to secure the tech fall.
Eligh Rivera had a solid come-from-behind win over August Hibler. After conceding an early takedown, Rivera found himself down 4-0. Getting an escape and a takedown to tie it in the third period, he came back and got another three to get the decision, 7-6.
Whalen added six points to the team score as Northwestern forfeited the 165 bout.
Mulhauser added another win to his hot start to the season, starting to score on J.D. Perez just 30 seconds in with a takedown. Relentlessly continuing to score, he had Perez in a near fall three times as he racked up the back points en-route to a tech fall, 17-1, in just 4:33.
Despite the four wins, and close bouts battled by Ethan Rivera and Jake Mann who fell within two points, it was Northwestern who would claim victory as the time expired on the 285 bout.
