PRINCETON, N.J. – Taking a pause from duals to turn towards tournament competition, the Princeton wrestling team will travel for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and the Patriot Open.
Splitting for the weekend, part of the squad will fly out to Nevada for Cliff Keen on Friday and Saturday, while the rest of the Tigers will head to Fairfax, Va. for the Patriot Open on Sunday.

About the Tigers
- This will mark the Tigers' second tournament of the season after they opened 2025-26 with the Princeton Open at home in Jadwin. The Tigers boasted five placewinners, with Ty Whalen and Marc-Anthony McGowan taking second place in their respective weight classes.
- Debuting at 165 this season, Whalen is 8-1 so far after going 4-1 at the Princeton Open and claiming four dual wins since.
- Sophomore McGowan is 6-2, falling to two ranked opponents while picking up three tech falls across his six wins this season so far.
- Kole Mulhauser has been solid so far, picking up a pin and a tech en-route to his 3-1 record this season. His only loss was to #18 Ian Bush.
- McGowan, Whalen, Mulhauser and Eligh Rivera were all 2025 NCAA Qualifiers.
Looking Back at Last Season
- Princeton's 2024-25 season was marked with progress, as the Tigers built over the course of the year before seeing success in the postseason.
- Under a new coaching staff, the Tigers went 8-9 in duals on the year while going 3-2 in the Ivy League.
- In March, Princeton hosted the first-ever Ivy League Wrestling Tournament, claiming two of the first individual champions in Luke Stout (197) and now-returning Marc-Anthony McGowan (125).
- The Tigers qualified five to the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia, with four returning to Jadwin this year in McGowan, Whalen, Rivera and Mulhauser (184).
Meet the New Tigers
- Joining the Tigers this year is a class of six in Gabe Garibaldi, Gavin Hawk, Matthew Martino, Conor McCloskey, Blase Mele and Dale O'Blia.
- Martino and O'Blia were both 2024 David Schultz Award winners in their respective states, Idaho and Colorado.
The Tiger Corner
- Head Coach Joe Dubuque enters his third season at the helm and 10th year with the Tigers after joining the program as assistant coach in 2016.
- Head Assistant Coach Cody Brewer and Assistant Coach Anthony Ashnault are both in their second season with the Tigers. Brewer spent a successful five-year tenure at Virginia Tech before coming to Princeton, while the role is Ashnault's first coaching position. Both are former national champions.
- Assistant Coach Ryan Wolfe is new to the Tiger corner this year after serving as assistant coach at his alma mater, Rider, since 2018. During his tenure, he coached Rider's first national finalist in Jesse Dellavecchia (165) and two All-Americans
