Men's Basketball Drops Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational Opener to Bradley

KISSIMMEE, Fl. – The Princeton University men's basketball team fell in its opening game at the Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational inside State Farm Field House to Bradley, 84-68.
Sophomore Jack Stanton led the Tigers in scoring with 16 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field, 3-for-5 from three and 3-for-3 from the free throw line. Stanton also led Princeton in rebounding with seven, which tied his career high. Junior Jackson Hicke also finished in double figures with 15 points, tying his career high, and added four rebounds.
While the Braves took an early 11-7 lead, a jumper by freshman Landon Clark followed by a freshman Sebastian Whitfield tip-in layup tied it up at 11-11 with 13:28 on the clock. With Bradley leading 20-19, seven consecutive Stanton points that included a four-point play put the Tigers in front with 7:56 remaining in the half, 26-20.
Bradley edged ahead 32-30 at 3:36, but a Stanton layup tied it, 32-32, with 2:45 remaining in the half. A pair of late three-pointers saw the Braves take a 40-34 advantage into halftime.
A 7-0 run by Bradley early in the second half saw the Braves surge out to a 55-41 lead with 17:00 left to play. Despite their best efforts down the stretch, Princeton was unable to narrow the deficit and went on to fall to the Braves.

The Tigers will face Temple (3-2) tomorrow inside State Farm Field House at 7:30 p.m. the consolation bracket. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
