
Men's Basketball Drops Road Contest At Yale

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's basketball team dropped a road contest to Yale Saturday night at Payne Whitney Gymnasium, 84-57
Junior Xaivian Lee led the Tigers in scoring with 19 points and had six rebounds. Freshman CJ Happy added seven points, two rebounds and two assists.
The Tigers got off to a strong start, with a three-pointer by Happy with 18:30 on the clock igniting an 8-0 run that put Princeton up, 8-3, with 15:59 left in the half. Yale battled back with an 8-0 run of its own and jumped ahead at 6:15, 17-12. A step-back three by Lee followed by a senior Blake Peters free throw narrowed the deficit back to one, 17-16, with 5:00 remaining in the half, but the Bulldogs got hot to close the half out and took a 32-20 advantage into halftime.
A Lee three-pointer made it a 10-point game with 16:50 left to play, 36-26, but an 8-0 Yale run helped the Bulldogs surge ahead, 44-26, at 15:17. Shortly after, a 10-0 run by Yale put the hosts ahead 56-31 with 10:06 left to play. The game's final 10 minutes belonged to Bulldogs, as Yale went on to earn an 84-57 win.
