
Tigers Smash Ivy League DMR Record in Final Regular Season Weekend

BOSTON, M.A. – A Tiger squad of Connor McCormick, Xavier Donaldson, Sam Rodman and Harrison Witt broke the Ivy League record in the DMR on Friday night at the BU DMR Challenge in Boston.
The group ran a blazing 9:17.30 for third at the meet, running under the current second-best time in the NCAA. The time broke the previous Ivy record of 9:23.27, set by Princeton in 2023. Rodman also ran the 800 leg in that squad, then joined by Ethan Reese '23, William Doyle '24 and Duncan Miller '23.
While the DMR squad competed in Boston, a cohort of Tigers made a shorter trip across the Delaware to compete in the Philadelphia Metro Meet, hosted by Penn.
Joey Gant won the 400m with a new personal record of 46.63, setting a new NCAA #46 and improving from his previous best of 49.00, ran earlier this season. Karl Dietz was right behind him, clocking in at 47.59 for second in the event.
The Tigers earned a 1-2-3-4 finish in the mile. Myles Hogan took first with a new PR of 4:01.05. Bendtsen came in second, clocking in at 4:01.07. Jackson Shorten (4:02.96) and Steven Hergenrother (4:03.20) took third and fourth, respectively.
Jon York also won the 200m, running 21.56 for a new college best.
In the 1000m, Cooper Austen took first place, running 2:28.90.
Paul Kuhner set a new personal best in the 60m dash, running 6.93 for a .10 second improvement from his previous time.
A trio of Tigers had a strong finish in the 60mH, with Easton Tan running 7.87 for second at the meet. Philip Kastner took third with a season-best 8.18, while Yuki Hojo took fourth with a time of 8.25.
In the field events, Caden Simmons set a new PR in long jump with a mark of 6.35m/20-10" for fourth. He also set a new personal best in the shot put, throwing 11.58m/38-0".
Joe Licata won the shot put with a mark of 18.74m/61-05.75", while Asher Robbins won the weight throw, throwing 19.05m/62-06".
Ilay Furman took second in triple jump with a mark of 13.98m/45-10.50".
