PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's track and field team will be seeking its 10th-consecutive title this weekend at the Indoor Ivy League Track and Field Championships, hosted by Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y.
The action will kick off in Barton Hall at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's track and field team will be seeking its 10th-consecutive title this weekend at the Indoor Ivy League Track and Field Championships, hosted by Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y.
The action will kick off in Barton Hall at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Last Time Out
- The Tigers last competed last Friday at the BU DMR challenge in Boston.
- A Tiger squad of Connor McCormick, Xavier Donaldson, Sam Rodman and Harrison Witt broke the Ivy League record in the DMR, running a blazing 9:17.30. Their time currently ranks sixth nationally and sixth in the NCAA all-time records. For their efforts, the group was named Ivy League Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
- A cohort of Tigers also competed at the Philadelphia Metro Meet last Friday, with Joey Gant running an impressive 400 race for a new PR of 46.63.
- The Tigers also earned a 1-2-3-4 finish in the mile. Myles Hogan took first with a new PR of 4:01.05. Bendtsen came in second, clocking in at 4:01.07. Jackson Shorten (4:02.96) and Steven Hergenrother (4:03.20) took third and fourth, respectively.
- In the field events, Caden Simmons set a new PR in long jump with a mark of 6.35m/20-10" for fourth. He also set a new personal best in the shot put, throwing 11.58m/38-0".
- Joe Licata won the shot put with a mark of 18.74m/61-05.75", while Asher Robbins won the weight throw, throwing 19.05m/62-06".
Re-Writing the Record Books
- Just this season, the Tigers have broken the program records in five events, also setting new Ivy League records in two.
- Harrison Witt holds the Princeton record in the mile (3:52.87), which is also an Ivy record. He also holds the school record in the 1000m (2:19.93).
- Jackson Clarke set a new record this season in the 200 with a time of 20.86.
- The DMR performance, which includes Witt, from last weekend tops the school and league record books.
- In the 4x400, Jonathan York, Joey Gant, Karl Dietz and Xavier Donaldson hold the program record with a time of 3:07.16.
- While these performances top the records in each event, 22 other Tiger performances this season made the Princeton top-10 all-time leaderboards.
Tigers on the NCAA Qualifying List
- The McCormick, Donaldson, Rodman, Witt DMR holds sixth in the nation currently.
- Witt is 11th nationally in the mile with his record-breaking time of 3:52.87 from the BU Valentine Invite. McCormick is behind him in 48th.
- Witt is also at 35th in the 800m, with McCormick behind him in 48th based on their performances at the Penn Classic.
- Greg Foster currently ranks 16th nationally in the long jump with a mark of 7.83m/25' 8.25", set at the Navy Dual on January 11th.
- Philip Kastner is at 17th in the heptathlon with a score of 5672, set at the Quaker Invitational on January 18th.
- Joe Licata is at 20th in the shot put after throwing 19.18m/62' 11.25" at the Navy Dual. Casey Helm is behind him at 43rd after throwing 18.56m/60-10.75 at the Tyson Invitational.
- The York, Dietz, Gant and Donaldson 4x400 performance of 3:07.16 at the Tyson Invitational ranks 33rd nationally.
- Jackson Clarke is ranked 35th in the 200m with his time of 20.86, ran at the Penn Classic.
- Princeton was ranked 2nd in the Mid-Atlantic and first in the Ivy League in the latest USTFCCCA Regional Polls, behind only Penn State.
A Year Ago
- Princeton won its ninth consecutive and 25th all-time indoor Ivy Championship title at last year's indoor Heps.
- Combined, the Tigers scored 168 points, 53 above Cornell who placed second.
- On their road to the top, Princeton won two relays and claimed seven individual events. Rodman, Nicholas Bendtsen, Collin Boler, Greg Foster, Philip Kastner and Clarke are all among the returning Princeton Ivy League champions.
About the Tiger Coaches
- Head Coach Jason Vigilante is in his second season at the helm of the program and 13th season overall at Princeton. The 2023-24 Ivy Coach of the Year, who also picked up Coaching Staff of the Year honors during the cross country season this fall, will look to coach the Tigers to their sixth Triple Crown during his tenure.
- The Tigers are also joined by new assistant coaches Marshall Faurot and Duke Taylor, who specialize in jumps, multis and throws.
