Men's Hockey Downed By Clarkson, 4-1
February 07, 2025 | Men's Ice Hockey
Four unanswered goals from visiting Clarkson negated a quick start from Princeton as the Golden Knights came back on the Tigers to secure a 4-1 win.
Kevin Anderson had the goal for Princeton, with Joshua Karnish and Luc Pelletier notching assists.
Clarkson was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Princeton was 0-for-3.
The Tigers wasted little time staking themselves to a 1-0 lead, getting on the board 2:12 into the game. Luc Pelletier and Joshua Karnish worked a low forecheck for the Tigers, Karnish eventually funneling the puck in front to Kevin Anderson who needed two cracks at it before flipping a rebound over Brannman and in.
Clarkson appeared to have tied the game before the end of the period, when Talon Sigurdson deflected a Jack Sparkes shot in, but after a coaches challenge from the Tigers the play was washed away due to Sigurdson's stick being above his shoulder when getting a piece of the puck.
The Golden Knights did net the equalizer and one more in the second period to build a 2-1 lead after 40:00 of play.
Tate Taylor scored the first one, following up a centering feed from his older brother, Trey, to tie the game with 8:54 to play in the second.
Just under three minutes later, Clarkson crept in front when Sigurdson was able to legally get a piece of a Trey Taylor shot from the point and deflect it in with 6:12 to play in the frame.
The Tigers conclude the home weekend with a 7 p.m. faceoff against St. Lawrence on February 8.
