Tigers Start Outdoor Season with Penn Challenge

PHILADELPHIA, PA. – Winning five events, the Princeton men's track and field team opened the 2025 outdoor season with the Penn Challenge in Philadelphia.
Casey Helm highlighted the day, winning two events. The junior threw a new personal best in the discus throw with a mark of 59.90m/196-06", improving on his previous best of 58.72m/192' 8" from last April.
Helm also won the shot put with a mark of 18.17m/59-07.50".
The Tigers also had a strong day in the sprinting events, beginning with a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100. Jadon Spain took first with a time of 10.53. Zach Della Rocca took second with a time of 10.68, while Charles Sexton took third with a time of 10.77.
In the 200m, Easton Tan took first with a time of 21.71, while Kavon Miller clocked in at 21.80 for second.
Avery Keith won the 3000m with a time of 8:29.53. He also set a new PR in the 1500 with a time of 3:54.50.
Several Tigers set new PRs on the day, including Jacob Emerson in the pole vault (4.88m, 16-00.00), Phil Kastner in the discus (43.33m/142-02), and Chris Paige in the 400 (49.78).

The Tigers will return to the track next weekend in West Long Branch, N.J. for the Monmouth Season Opener on March 28th and 29th.
