
No. 4 Men's Lightweight Rowing To Race No. 2 Penn For Wood-Hammond Cup

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 4 Princeton University men's lightweight rowing team will strive to bring the Wood-Hammond Cup back to Princeton against the No. 2 University of Pennsylvania at the Schuylkill River on Apr. 12.
Last Time Out
The Tigers split its races with No. 4 Cornell as the Tigers and Big Red raced for the Platt Cup and Harriot Trophy Saturday morning at the Cornell Rowing Center. While Princeton's 1V and 4V fell, the 2V and 3V earned victories over the Big Red. Cornell regained the Platt Cup along with the Harriot Trophy, which is based on overall team wins, as the 1V was the tiebreaker.
Wood-Hammond Cup Trophy History
The Wood-Hammond Trophy, started in 1941, is the annual competition between the varsity lightweight crews of the Princeton and Penn. While the Quakers won the Wood-Hammond Cup in 2024, the Tigers hold a 3-2 advantage over the past five years. Princeton also leads the all-time series, 65-14.

The Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) named Adam Casler, Nick Aronow and David Van Velden to its 2025 Athlete Watchlist on Apr. 2.
