
Long, Neill & Bell Named To 2025 IRCA Athlete Watchlist

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) announced its 2025 Athlete Watchlist Wednesday and Patrick Long along with Connor Neill and Theo Bell of the No. 4 Princeton University heavyweight rowing team were among the selections.
The watchlist recognizes the top athletes and top emerging talent across the entire landscape of men's collegiate rowing.
Most recently, Long, Bell and Neill helped the Tigers' 1V open its season with wins over No. 16 Georgetown, No. 18 La Salle and No. 24 Temple at Lake Carnegie on Mar. 29. Princeton crossed the finish line (5:33.6) ahead of the Hoyas (5:40.7), the Owls (5:42.7) and the Explorers (5:44.6).
Long, who was a 2024 IRCA Second Team All-America honoree, and Bell, a two-time First Team selection, were part of the Tigers' 1V in 2024 that had its first undefeated regular season since 2006 along with Neill. The duo helped Princeton win the Ladies' Plate crown at the Henley Royal Regatta, and win silver at Eastern Sprints, which helped the team win the Row Cup for the first time since 2016. Additionally, Long, Bell and Neill were part of the 1V who finished fourth in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship Grand Final, which pushed the Tigers to second in the Ten Eyck standings, the team's highest mark since 2016.
