Wenger Earns Gold at U-23 World Rowing Championships

PRINCETON – The Princeton Men's Heavyweight Rowing Team had an outstanding U-23 World Rowing Championships highlighted by Tristan Wenger's gold medal.
Wegner and the Great Britain eight had the top time on Sunday morning in the A-Final. The boat rowed out to a 5:29.6, almost three seconds in front of New Zealand (5:32.59).
Matt Cashman, Dan Cashman and Ed Nutt helped Australia's eight to fourth place (5:34.44) while Kian Aminian and Andrew Wilkinson led the United States' eight to fifth (5:35.95).
Alan Mitchell '29 and France's eight secured fourth (5:49.5) in the B Final while Connor Bohlmann and Canada were sixth (5:55.49).
The Great Britain pair of Marcus Chute and Theo Bell just missed out on a medal, placing fourth (6:26.47) in their A Final on Saturday. Turkey won the event at 6:24.94, followed by Germany (6:26.12) and Switzerland (6:26.39). Bohlmann and his teammate Matteo Banducci were fifth in the B Final (6:47.44).
Peter Strecansky '29 of the men's lightweight team won its B Final (7:03.76) in the lightweight single scull event.
