Second-Half Spurt Lifts Ohio State Past Women's Soccer

Though the Princeton women's soccer team had the lead at halftime over an Ohio State team that was ranked No. 25 just a week ago, the Buckeyes scored four goals in a span of less than eight minutes to leave Roberts Stadium with a 4-1 win on Thursday night.
Princeton got the scoring going with three-plus minutes before halftime, with Alexandra Barry jumping on a ball on the doorstep of the goal after Nina Cantor fired a long-distance shot off the crossbar and Aubrey Crisostomo bounced the carom over to Barry for the finish.Â
The lead lasted 10 minutes into the second half before the Buckeyes' Callie Tumilty was fouled near the penalty spot, and teammate Amanda Schlueter buried the penalty kick to tie it at 1-1. Five minutes later, Ohio State began a run of three goals in less than three minutes, with Elle Britt, Jacinda Bonham and Ava Greco scoring to flip a one-goal deficit eight minutes earlier into a three-goal lead.
Greco's goal with 27-plus minutes to play ended the scoring, and Princeton will look to bounce back when Syracuse visits for an 11 a.m. kick on Sunday at Roberts Stadium.
