Tigers Dominate Navy Dual with 106-71 Team Victory
January 10, 2026 | Women's Track and Field
ANNAPOLIS, MD. – Opening 2026 with a dominant team win, the Princeton women's track and field team took a 106-71 dual meet victory over Navy on Saturday in Annapolis.
Winning 13 of 17 events, the Tigers excelled, as Alexandra Kelly set a new program record in the long jump and nine others made top-10 all-time performances.
"I'm really pleased with how the team performed today across all the event groups. Their competitiveness was tremendous. There are certainly things that we can improve and build upon in the weeks to come, but I'm pleased with the team's focus and intention," said Head Coach Michelle Eisenreich. "The foundation is set for a very exciting season."
"I really enjoyed seeing the whole team come together and compete for the first time, with our distance runners rejoining the rest of our track and field team," said Assistant Coach Reuben Jones. "This meet really does focus more on the competitive side of things rather than on objective marks, which I think puts our team in a very good mindset for what the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships are going to be like. I think we handled that really well; the team chemistry was amazing. The energy, the support from the start of the meet to the end was amazing, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how we can build off of this in the next couple of months."
Kelly cleared 6.50m / 21-4" in the long jump, crushing the previous Princeton record of 6.29m, set by Georgina Scoot at last year's Navy dual.
The mark is also a current NCAA best and second all-time in Ivy League history, while also marking a Wesley A. Brown Field House record.
The Tigers had a 1-2-3-4-5 sweep in the long jump, with Scoot, Julia Jongejeugd, Elizabeth Yeboah-Kodie and Ava John following Kelly's record.
Scoot jumped 6.24m / 20-5 ¾", just four centimeters off from her personal best. Jongejeugd's 5.80m ranks eighth in the Princeton record books, while Yeboah-Kodie's 5.78m ranks ninth.
Brooke Jackson had a standout day, claiming wins in both the 60m and 200m. Her 24.42 mark in the 200m ranks seventh all-time in Princeton history, while 7.55 was good enough to take first in the 60m.
Dominating the sprints and middle distance events, Maisha Atkinson and Nelly Floutakou had a 1-2 finish in the 500m. Atkinson clocked in at 1:13.21, while Floutakou's 1:13.78 ranks seventh in school history also.
Olivia Martin won the 800m with a time of 2:09.72. Hannah Riggins claimed victory in the 1000m with a time of 2:47.21.
In the mile, the Tigers went 1-2-3-4, with Anna McNatt taking the top spot with a time of 4:40.07, putting her at sixth in the Princeton all-time marks. Meg Madison (4:52.29), Finia Kretschmann (4:54.17) and Emily Cooper (4:55.89) all rounded out the top four.
Laila Payne won the 60m hurdles, clocking in at 8.44 for a Princeton all-time third-best.
Lotte Gretzler and Tessa Mudd took the top two spots in the pole vault, respectively, each clearing 4.00m. Gretzler's mark puts her at fifth in the school record book.
Taking another 1-2-3-4 finish in the shot put, the Tigers excelled as Layla Giordano threw 14.59m / 47-10 ½. Jana Ter Wee took second with a mark of 14.51 / 47-7 ¼, Makenna Marshall threw 13.84 / 45-5 for third, and Julia Santos threw 13.53 / 44-4 ¾ for fourth. Ter Wee's mark makes the all-time Tiger top-10.
Angela McAuslan-Kelly won the weight throw with a mark of 19.68 / 64-6 ¾.
Princeton swept the relays, with an all-first-year 4x400 squad of Payne, Yeboah-Kodie, Jane Kennedy and Delia Gregory running 3:49.57. In the 4x800, Sofia Lieberman, Kretschmann, Maddie Cramer and Emma de Jong took first with a time of 9:10.07.
Delving into the heart of the indoor season, today's full-team effort gives the Tigers a solid foundation to build on as they set sights on more success in February and March.
"Coming off of a championship-winning cross country season, it was really exciting to have the entire team under one roof again," said Assistant Coach Brad Hunt. "Our depth on the track and in the field was on full display today. I look forward to watching the middle distance and endurance crew use today as a launching point in our championship chase in 2026. Go Tigers!"
