Scoot Sets NCAA Best, Ivy Triple Jump Record at Quaker Invitational
January 17, 2026 | Women's Track and Field
PHILADELPHIA, PA. – With standout performances in the triple jump, including Georgina Scoot setting a new Ivy League record and current NCAA best, the Tigers competed at the Quaker Invitational in Philadelphia on Saturday.
""Two weeks into January and the fruits of our labor are beginning to emerge. To have four of our performances ranked in top-25 of the NCAA (HJ, LJ, TJ and PV) this early is exciting! We are encouraged, but in no way are we complacent with six weeks until Indoor Heps. Onwards and upwards. Go Tigers!" - Assistant Coach Reuben Jones
Scoot, jumping an outstanding 13.47m / 44-02.50", won the event and bested the previous Ivy record of 13.44m, set by Brown's Zion Lewis in 2020. For Scoot, the mark is also an improvement from her previous indoor personal best, and Princeton record, of 13.16m. Her performance is currently ranked first in the NCAA this season.
Alexandra Kelly also had a standout performance in the triple jump, taking second place with a jump of 13.22m / 43-04.50". Her mark, over the previous school record, now ranks second all-time in the Princeton record book. It also sits at fifth in the NCAA this season, while tying for fifth-best all-time in the Ivy League. For Kelly, it is her first time jumping over 13m indoors since 2023, and first since April 2024 outdoors.
Continuing to dominate in the field events, Tessa Mudd and Lotte Gretzler had strong days in the pole vault. Mudd, clearing 4.22m / 13-10", took first in the event. The mark currently ranks 15th nationally.
Gretzler, setting a new PR, cleared 4.12m / 13-06.25", which puts her at third in the Princeton record book.
Brooke Jackson took second in the 200m, narrowly missing an event win by just .01 seconds. With a time of 24.22, she ranks second in the Princeton record book.
In the 60m, Laila Payne and Soraya Patterson had Princeton all-time top-10 performances, as Payne's 7.56 ranks third and Patterson's PR of 7.65 ranks 10th.
Elizabeth Yeboah-Kodie won the 60m hurdles, running 8.55 as the first-year remains undefeated this season in the event.
Multi-event athlete Ava John also put up a solid performance in the 60m hurdles, setting a huge PR of 8.77 in the prelims to qualify for the final.
In the mile, Emily Cooper also set a PR of 4:52.32.
After a day of performances that show both progress and potential for the rest of the season, the Tigers will now look ahead to next weekend, when the squad will split for two tri-state competitions with the Penn Elite in Philadelphia and the Dr. Sander Scorcher in New York City.
