Hicke Scores Career-High 28 Points in 71-69 Loss at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – Despite a game and career-high 28 points from junior Jackson Hicke, the Princeton University men's basketball team could not hold against Dartmouth inside Leede Area Monday night and fell to the Big Green, 71-69.
Hicke, who scored 20 points or more for the sixth time in 2025-26, went 9-for-15 from the field, 4-for-7 from three and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. His nine made field goals were also a career-high, and he added four rebounds along with two assists. Junior Dalen Davis added 13 points and went 3-for-3 from three, bringing his career total in made three-pointers to 99. Freshman Landon Clark was the Tigers' third double figure scorer, finishing with 12 points. Sophomore Malik Abdullahi led Princeton in rebounding with seven.
The game began as a back-and-forth battle, with a Clark layup followed by a Hicke three-pointer putting Princeton in front with 16:23 on the clock, 9-7. The Big Green battled back, using a 7-0 run to jump out to a 21-16 advantage with 9:00 remaining in the half.
With 13:18 remaining in the half a three-pointer by Davis ignited a 7-0 Princeton run that saw the Tigers retake the lead, 18-14, at 10:29. Shortly after, with 8:15 remaining in the half, a layup by sophomore Jack Stanton ignited an 11-0 run that pushed Princeton ahead, 29-21, with 6:08 on the clock. Clark completed a layup at 0:43 and Princeton took a 38-31 advantage into halftime.
Dartmouth came out of halftime and narrowed the deficit to two with 18:33 remaining, 38-36. A three-point play by Abdullahi followed by a pair of Hicke free throws extended the Tigers' lead back out to 45-39 at 15:48. Two more Hicke free throws kept Princeton in front with 11:23 left to play, 54-49.
Princeton did enough to maintain its lead; a layup by junior Jacob Huggins then a Hicke three-pointer gave the Tigers a 62-54 lead with 7:44 on the clock. Dartmouth fought back and took the lead, 69-67, after an 11-0 run at 0:44. Clark drained a pair of free throws with 0:26 on the clock to tie it, 69-69, but a jumper by Dartmouth's Kareem Thomas won it for the Big Green with a final score of 71-69.
