Men's Basketball Gets Past Brown, 63-53

PRINCETON, N.J. – Led by junior Dalen Davis' game-high 22 points and a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double from junior Jackson Hicke, the Princeton University men's basketball team got past Brown Saturday afternoon inside Jadwin Gymnasium, 63-53.
Princeton went a perfect 22-for-22 from the free throw line, marking the second consecutive game they've not missed a free throw. Against Dartmouth on Jan. 19, Princeton went 11-for-11, which means the Tigers have gone 33-for-33 over their past two games.
The Tigers improved to 113-33 in the all-time series with Brown and moved to 66-7 at home. Franklin C. Cappon-Edward C. Green '40 Head Coach Mitch Henderson's record against the Bears also improved to 21-8.
The first half was a back-and-forth battle; with 14:15 on the clock, Davis buried his 100th career three-pointer and ignited an 8-0 run that put Princeton in front with 13:01 left in the half, 14-9. Shortly after, Brown used a 6-0 run to jump ahead, 19-16, at 8:40.
Later in the half, Hicke would take over and score six consecutive points to put Princeton back in front with at 3:42, 25-21. A Brown layup with 0:04 remaining saw the Tigers and Bears go into halftime at a 27-27 stalemate.
Brown opened the second half with a 5-0 run, but a sophomore Malik Abdullahi dunk followed by a Davis three-pointer tied it up, 32-32, at 16:35. The Bears edged ahead, 41-39, with 9:22 on the clock but a three-pointer by Davis with 8:08 remaining led a 10-0 Princeton run that saw the Tigers surge ahead with 6:12 left to play, 49-41.
A pair of Hicke free throws put the Tigers up nine with 3:25 on the clock, 53-44, before a pair of free throws each by Davis and Hicke put Princeton ahead by double figures at 1:32, 59-49. From there, the Tigers held on for 63-53 triumph.
