No. 20/24 Women's Basketball Drops Harvard, 82-79, In OT Thriller

PRINCETON – The No. 20/24 Princeton Women's Basketball Team held off the Harvard Crimson, 82-79, in overtime at Jadwin Gym on Monday afternoon.
Ashley Chea's three-pointer with 0.4 seconds to go in regulation sent the game into the extra session.
On the team's second possession of overtime, Madison St. Rose hit a trey. After the two teams exchanged free throws, Skye Belker's mid-range jumper pushed the home unit's advantage to four, 71-67. St. Rose extended the lead (73-67) with a layup with 2:07 to go.
Princeton improved its lead to eight, 77-69, behind four from the charity stripe from Belker and Fadima Tall. In front by five, Olivia Hutcherson's fast break layup with 21 seconds left put the game away.
Harvard's Olivia Jones' field goal in the first quarter gave the Crimson a 11-9 advantage after 10 minutes.
An 8-2 sprint in the second stanza put Princeton ahead 25-24 before the contest was evened at 25-all at the break.
Down six at the 3:28 mark of the third frame, Princeton ripped off 11 of 15 to go up one, 49-48, as the final 10 minutes got started.
Head coach Carla Berube's squad pushed its lead to seven, 57-50, but Harvard did not go away, answering with eight consecutive points as Saniyah Glenn-Bello's basket gave it the advantage, 58-57, as the clock ticked near 90 seconds.
The two teams exchanged buckets before Harvard's Katie Krupa's trey with five seconds remaining put the road unit in front ahead of Chea's triple.
Princeton's five starters registered double figures led by St. Rose and Chea with 19 each. Tall just missed a double-double with 11 points, nine boards along with matching her personal best with five swipes. It's the first time Princeton had five post double digits in points since last year at Harvard (Feb. 2025).
Princeton improves to 16-1 overall and 4-0 in the Ivy League while Harvard drops to 9-8 this season and 2-2 in the conference. The Tigers head on the road to Brown next Saturday (Jan. 24). Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
