Snow? What snow?
While the Northeast braces for the coming storm, the Princeton men's tennis team will be playing outdoors in the Southern California sunshine. The Tigers at the University of San Diego for two matches in the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
The event starts for Princeton Friday at 9:30 am Pacific/12:30 pm Eastern against Miami, ahead of the second match between the host Toreros and Arizona State. The consolation match will be Saturday at 9:30 am Pacific, and the two winners will meet at 1 Pacific.
"It's a great opportunity here in San Diego as we continue our Western trip," said Tiger head coach Billy Pate. "We've made a comfortable transition to the outdoor conditions in practice, but we'll need to be strong against a good Miami squad. We've played on the USD courts a good bit in recent years, and we are familiar with what it will take to be successful."
The four teams at USD this weekend are off to a combined 13-0 start.
Miami is 3-0, with wins over Troy, North Florida and Buffalo, and the Hurricanes have yet to drop an individual match. Arizona State is already 6-0, while USD is 2-0.
As for Princeton, the Tigers have been on the road for more than a week already. Their trip began in Idaho with a 5-2 win over Boise State and the continued this past Tuesday with a 6-1 win at Washington in Seattle.
