Zein, Jaffe Win to Set Up Monday's All-Tiger Semis at CSA Individuals
January 25, 2026 | Women's Squash
It'll be an all-Tiger semifinal on Monday as both junior Zeina Zein, the defending champion, and rookie Alex Jaffe won their quarterfinal matches on Sunday at OpenSquash FiDi to advance to Grand Central Terminal and the CSA Individual Championship semifinals.
Top-seeded Zein went first, turning in a three-game sweep of eighth-seeded Franka Vidovic of Penn, and Jaffe, seeded 9-12, followed, knocking off fourth-seeded Lucie Stefanoni of Harvard in four games.
Zein made the semis in her rookie year of 2024 before winning the championship the next year. A Zein win on Monday would make her the first Tiger to appear in back-to-back finals since Julia Beaver '01 won three straight titles from 1999 to 2001. A Jaffe win would make her the first Tiger rookie to make the final since Hope Mackay '92 in 1989. Monday's semifinal is set for an 11:30 a.m. start, and the winner will advance to Tuesday's 1:30 p.m. final at Grand Central.
The Zein and Jaffe wins were two of three on Sunday as Emma Trauber won her consolation bracket, rallying from being down two games to none to win in five.
