January 31, 2026 | Women's Track and Field
PHILADELPHIA, PA. – With more standout sprint performances and continued success in the long jump, the Princeton women's track and field team competed at the Penn Invitational on Friday.
"Sprint, hurdle and jumps group used the Penn Invitational to launch us into what's ahead in February-March. The performances today do not outshine the resilience shown by our Tigers. Our spirits grow stronger with each competitive experience. We can't wait for the next challenge!" - Associate Head Coach Reuben Jones
Maisha Atkinson had an impressive day, winning the 200m with a Princeton all-time second-best time of 24.14.
Then, anchoring in the 4x400, Atkinson was joined by Laila Payne, Jane Kennedy and Delia Gregory as the squad raced to a second place 3:41.52 finish, putting them second in the Princeton record book and 44th in the NCAA currently.
Atkinson ran an exceptional 54 second anchor leg to help push the group to success.
In the long jump, Alexandra Kelly excelled again as she jumped 6.31m / 20-08.50, continuing her string of impressive horizontal jump performances.
Soraya Patterson also set a new PR in the event, clearing 5.78m.
In the 60mH, Elizabeth Yeboah-Kodie and Anika Scott took second and third on the podium, running 8.52 and 8.60, respectively. Scott's time marked a new personal best.
