PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton women's track and field team will head back to Philadelphia for the Penn Classic on Friday and Saturday, held at the Ott Center.
With Heps in less than a month, the meet will provide another opportunity for the Tigers to hone their skills and compete against Ivy League and national opponents alike.
The Tigers were at Penn last weekend for the Penn Invitational. Maisha Atkinson had an impressive day, winning the 200m with a Princeton all-time second-best time of 24.14.
Then, anchoring in the 4x400, Atkinson was joined by Laila Payne, Jane Kennedy and Delia Gregory as the squad raced to a second place 3:41.52 finish, putting them second in the Princeton record book and 44th in the NCAA currently.
Alexandra Kelly had another solid performance in the long jump, clearing 6.31m / 20-08.50.
The Tigers, the defending Ivy League Triple Crown Champions, look to continue a streak of success this year after winning the 2025 cross country championship to kick off this academic year.
Last May, the Tigers completed their third Triple Crown and first since 2011 as they won the Ivy League Outdoor Heps Championship.
In the 2025 indoor season, the Tigers cruised to victory, making history as they scored in every event. Princeton claimed seven individual champions and a 4x800 relay win.
Champions returning to the track this indoor season include Julia Jongejeugd (pentathlon), Angela McAuslan-Kelly (WT), Georgina Scoot (TJ), Kelly (LJ), and Hannah Riggins (1000m). Stella Vieth and Maddie Cramer, two members of the 4x800 squad, also return this year.
The Tigers are led by Head Coach Michelle Eisenreich, in her 10th season at the helm. Eisenreich earned two Ivy League Coach of the Year awards last year in the indoor and outdoor track seasons. The Triple Crown was the program's first under her leadership.
