And now it's the men's turn.
For the second straight weekend, the ECAC Championships will be held at Princeton's Si Qin Family Indoor Tennis Center, this time with the men's edition. As with the women last week, the event will feature the eight Ivy League schools, with matches beginning Friday morning and lasting through Sunday afternoon's final.
All matches will be streamed at https://stream.prestosports.com/princeton.
"It should be an exciting weekend of tournament tennis with the ECAC in Princeton," says Princeton head coach Billy Pate. "We encourage all tennis fans in the area to attend as there will be an abundance of intense matches from morning to evening. Since we don't have a conference tournament for tennis in the Ivy, this is a great opportunity for all eight Ivy squads to battle it out."
Princeton enters the tournament at the No. 2 seed and will take on seventh-seed Dartmouth Friday at 6 pm in the last of four quarterfinal matches. Columbia, the No. 1 seed, will face Brown at 9 am to start the tournament, followed by No. 4 Cornell and No. 5 Yale and then No. 3 Harvard and No. 6 Penn before the Tigers and Big Green.
There will then be four matches Saturday with the consolation rounds and semifinal rounds, with four more Sunday, including the final at 3 pm.
Princeton enters the weekend at 6-3, a record that includes 4-3 losses to both No. 13 North Carolina State and No. 22 Arizona State. Princeton's last match was a 5-2 win at North Carolina this past Sunday.
"Kicking off our first round Friday night at 6pm versus Dartmouth will present a good challenge, and we'll focus on carrying momentum from Sunday's win over UNC into this weekend," says Pate. "Our goal is to simply be a little better each time out, and if we do that, it will put us in a great position against anyone."
