Wunder Named Finalist for ECAC Hockey's Mandi Schwartz Award
February 12, 2026 | Women's Ice Hockey
In recognition of her success not only on the ice but academically and contributions to the community, Princeton senior Issy Wunder has been named one of three finalists for ECAC Hockey's Mandi Schwartz Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.Â
The award is annually presented to an ECAC Hockey female student-athlete in honor of the late Mandi Schwartz, a Yale women's hockey alum whose battle with cancer continues to inspire and empower the entire hockey community. Wunder would be the first Tiger to win the award, which was inaugurated in 2007.Â
Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, Wunder has a team-high 23 goals and is tied for third on the team with 15 assists, good for second on the team with 38 points.
Wunder was named the Laurel Lake Placid ECAC Hockey Forward of the Week on Jan. 6 and was the Laurel Lake Placid ECAC Hockey Forward of the Month for January.Â
Through her first three seasons, Wunder was the 2025 Ivy League Player of the Year, the 2025 ECAC Forward of the Year and finalist for ECAC Player of the Year, a top-10 Patty Kazmaier Award finalist in 2025, a 2025 first-team All-ECAC honoree, a 2025 USCHO third-team selection, and a two-time All-Ivy selection.
She was the team's lead ambassador for the Let Her Play campaign last year, has served as a volunteer for Reading for the Tigers and coaching Barbies at Baker, has served as a mentor for young hockey players in Toronto, guiding them through high school hockey and the NCAA recruiting process as Canadians, and has taught young players in one-on-one sessions.
The psychology major with a minor in neuroscience was the team's selection for Academic All-Ivy in 2025.Â
