No. 9 Yale Defeats No. 8 Princeton, Sending ECAC Race to Final Day
February 13, 2026 | Women's Ice Hockey
With No. 9 Yale's 2-0 win over the No. 8-ranked Princeton women's hockey team on Friday night at Baker Rink, attention turns to Saturday's game with Brown at Baker and Yale's visit to Quinnipiac. Both are 3 p.m. starts.
Yale now leads the ECAC with 45 points, one better than Princeton's 44 and two better than Quinnipiac's 43. Princeton needs a win and help from Quinnipiac. A Tiger regulation win, combined with any Quinnipiac victory, would give Princeton at least a share of the ECAC regular-season championship. If Princeton's win comes in overtime, Quinnipiac must defeat Yale in regulation.
On Friday night, Yale struck at 5:14 of the first period with a Jordan Ray goal before Mariya Rauf doubled the lead at 7:44 of the second.
Princeton generated its best push in the third period, finishing with 23 shots on the night. Uma Corniea stopped 33 in goal for the Tigers.
